Cooperation with the Osh State University in Kyrgyzstan
On 24 September 2022, Rector of Pomeranian University in Słupsk, professor Zbigniew Osadowski, and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, professor Danuta Gierczyńska, met with the representatives of the State University in Osh, Kyrgyzstan - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, professor Zamirbek Bojonow, and Vice-Rector for Research, professor Ruslan Arapbaev, as well as with heads of various university structures.
The parties signed a new cooperation agreement, which provides for joint activities in the field of exchange of teachers and students, implementation of educational programs, research works, organization of scientific conferences, seminars and guest lectures. The Polish delegation got acquainted with the University, visited the Ak-Buura campus, the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty, Faculties of Arts, International Relations, and the University of International Educational Programs.
The Pomeranian University delegation also included professor Ivan Kirvel from the Department of Geoecology and Geoinformation of the Institute of Biology and Earth Sciences of our University, and the Head of the Student’s Office - Ms Bogusława Medwid, MA.
Osh State University is one of Kyrgyzstan's leading universities and an important center of higher education outside the capital city of Bishkek. There are about 40,000 students at the University, with as many as 3,000 international students. Most of the foreign students study at the Faculty of Medicine. Other faculties are: the Faculty of Business and Management, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Pedagogy, the Faculty of Modern Languages, the Faculty of Mathematics, the Faculty of Computer Science and Electronics, the Faculty of Arts, and the Institute of Engineering.
