Admission Rules

FIRST STAGE OF ADMISSION


Information for international students: candidates for studies are obliged to register on the following website: https://ehms.apsl.edu.pl/e-rekrutacja/ 

Step 1. Choose: «2. Registration for studies 2021/2022 (for international candidates)», registration will start from 22.06.2021;

Step 2. Fill the necessary information (field of study, major);

Step 3. Fill the Application Form, print it and sign;

Step 4. Send a copy or scanned versions of some basic documents, essential for the first stage of admission to the following email: rekrutacja@apsl.edu.pl 

or by post to the following address:

The documents include:

  1. Application Form with a picture.
  2. Passport, scan of the first page (the one with personal details and picture).
  3. Valid proof of the education completed. A valid document entitling the candidate  to undertake studies in Poland, translated into Polish by a sworn translator, legalized or with an apostille attached.

 

Bachelor's Degree Programmes and Uniform (5-year) Master’s Degree Programmes

In the case of candidates for Bachelor’s degree studies and uniform (5-year) Master's studies, the relevant documents include:

  • high school graduation certificate with relevant marks;
  • legalization of the certificate or an apostille;
  • legalized certificate with marks translated into Polish by a sworn translator;
  • a confirmation that the certificate entitles the candidate to apply for admission to institutions of higher education of all types – if applicable and depending on the country where the document was issued (if your certificate does not hold such information).

 

 

Decision to recognize the certificate issued abroad

Some certificates are recognized in Poland by virtue of law and require no further procedures in order to apply for studies. It applies to the certificates issued in member states of the EU, OECD and EFTA as well as those countries with which Poland has signed an international agreement involving the acknowledgement of education (recognition of education).

The certificates issued in other countries require the execution of subsidiary procedure, so that they can be recognized by institutions of higher education in Poland. Such decisions are issued by Chief education officers. Applicants who live in Poland and who wish to obtain the decision should turn to a Chief education officer in their voivodeship. This procedure also concerns applicants from abroad. The competent body for Pomeranian Voivodeship is the Local Education Authority (LEA) in Gdansk.

Master’s Degree Programmes

In the case of candidate for a Master’s degree programme (second cycle studies):

  • diploma certifying the completion of a bachelor's degree course along with the supplement (transcript of records);
  • legalization of the certificate or an apostille;
  • legalized diploma with the supplement translated into Polish by a sworn translator, 

or 

  • a confirmation that the certificate entitles the candidate to apply for admission to institutions of higher education of all types – if applicable and depending on the country where the document was issued (if such information is not included in your certificate).

ALL DOCUMENTS ISSUED SHOULD BE TRANSLATED INTO POLISH BY A SWORN TRANSLATOR*

*Translation of  all documents into Polish should be done by a sworn translator enlisted as such by the Minister of Justice. The list is available at this URL (click here)

Accommodation in dormitories is possible from September 28, 2021 (Extra charge is issued for accommodation on 28 and 29 September 2021)

  1. Birth certificate (necessary for temporary residence registration) – eyes-only documents.
  2. Documents confirming the exemptions from Tuition fees for full-time studies:
  • foreign passport in case of international students from the following countries:

UE: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Germany, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary, Italy;

EFTA: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland;

  • permanent residence card or long-term EU residence permit;
  • decision on temporary residence permit referred to in:

- Article 159 par. 1 or

- Article 186 par. 1, points 3 or 4  the Act on Foreigners of 12 December 2013;

  • decision on granting a refugee status or confirmation of the right to enjoy temporary protection or subsidiary protection in the Republic of Poland;
  • a certificate confirming the knowledge of the Polish language as a foreign language at least C1 level issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language;
  • the Card of the Pole or a decision on Polish origin;
  • marriage certificate or birth certificate as well as the confirmation of residence in Poland – in case of a married foreigner, descendant or ascendant of a Polish citizen living in the Republic of Poland.
  1. Parents’ or caregivers’ permission to undertake studies by an underage person (applies only to candidates younger than 18 years old); in case of underage candidates parents’ or caregivers’ legal permission certified by notary public or Polish diplomatic or consular office is required.

 

SECOND STAGE OF ADMISSION

In order to complete your admission process, upon arrival, you must: 

  1. Submit the original documents specified above (i.e. required in the first stage of admission);
  2. Participate in the organizational meeting (attendance is mandatory);
  3. Pass your Polish Proficiency Test;
  4. Prepare the documents required for obligatory registration of your stay in Poland.
