Innovative dual Bachelor’s programme at our University
Pomeranian University in Słupsk in cooperation with Markos company have jointly announced the launch of an innovative dual Bachelor’s degree programme in “Logistics - Green Supply Chains”. The announcement followed weeks of consultations and discussions on the final shape of the programme. The launch of the dual studies is an important objective of the 3LoE project, whose main goal is to educate specialists for the green economy.
The details of the agreement and the outline of the studies were released during a press conference on 5 May 2022. At the conference, professor Zbigniew Osadowski emphasized the importance of cooperation between the University and the business sector, and thanked the management of Markos company for their readiness to undertake cooperation in the field of education. On his part, Cezary Koseski, CEO of Markos Sp. z o.o., revealed that as many as 17 employees of his company will start the dual programme in October 2022. He also added that his company is willing to expand partnership with the University for synergy aims to boost the dynamics of the local business environment.
Professor Marek Łukasik, Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation and the Institutional Coordinator of the 3LoE project described the fundamentals of the project, which mainly consists in establishing three-level Centers of Professional Excellence. Our University is one of the three Polish partners, along with Tadeusz Tański Mechanical and Logistics School in Słupsk and the Chamber of Crafts and SME in Szczecin. Overall, the 3LoE project is realised by 22 partners from 7 European countries, i.e. Austria, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Spain.
Professor Andrzej Urbanek, Vice-Rector for Education, indicated that the project has been a catalyst for the establishment of the Pomeranian Centre for Vocational Excellence, a joint partnership of the University, businesses, trade and crafts chambers, local authorities, and other interested parties, whose common goal will be to answer the educational and vocational needs of all regional stakeholders.
Towards the end of the press conference, professor Zbigniew Osadowski and Mr Cezary Koseski signed a letter of intent, whose wording reveals strong willingness of both parties to cooperate in a number of current and future undertakings in a number of areas.
